Probably the single most important initiative for the West Valley Arts Council to undertake in years, the Campaign for the Arts will be the cornerstone of what will eventually be a full-blown United Arts Fund for the West Valley. What exactly is that--you ask?

Arts Councils across the country raise money annually to support their grants programs which supply funds for artists and arts organizations.

The Campaign for the Arts is a workplace giving campaign, not unlike the United Ways' campaign. We will be asking employees of companies, municipalities, schools and more, to participate in supporting the arts through direct contributions or payroll deduction. This campaign would eventually yield more than $1 million in support of the arts annually in the West Valley.

Set to launch this spring, several businesses have already committed.
